Man-of-Steel-PosterZack Snyder’s Man of Steel is just over a month away from its debut in theatres, and the expectations and anticipation are absolutely soaring for the Superman blockbuster reboot.

Warner Bros. have been doing a brilliant job of promoting the film, teasing us with plenty of epic action, whilst saving the best things for the cinema (as every good film campaign should). We saw two epic new TV spots at the end of last week. And following nicely come two new posters from the studio, giving us another look at Henry Cavill in the hero’s suit.

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

Cavill is joined by a terrific cast, led by Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Russell Crowe, Diane Lane, Richard Schiff, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, and Laurence Fishburne.

Snyder is directing from a script penned by David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight Trilogy), who co-wrote the story with frequent collaborator Christopher Nolan.

Man of Steel will be released in 2D, 3D, IMAX, and IMAX 3D on June 14th in the US and UK. That release date should be firmly set in your mind, because this, my friends, is the unmissable movie of the year.
