Man-of-Steel-Character-Poster-Kal-ElZack Snyder’s Man of Steel is undeniably one of the year’s most anticipated films, and you’d better believe that it’s going to live up to the brilliant hype that Warner Bros. have been building around it.

With less than a month before it hits theatres, the studio has started to release the first character posters for Snyder’s blockbuster, giving us a look at Henry Cavill as the Man of Steel himself, Kal-El; Russell Crowe as his father, Jor-El; and Michael Shannon as the antagonist, Zod.

And they all look awesome.

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

Cavill, Crowe, and Shannon are joined by an outstanding cast, led by Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Richard Schiff, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, and Laurence Fishburne.

Snyder is directing from a script penned by David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight Trilogy), who co-wrote the story with frequent collaborator Christopher Nolan.

Man of Steel will open in 2D, 3D, IMAX, and IMAX 3D on June 14th in the US and UK. I really can’t wait for this one to come out. Like Superman himself, it is destined for greatness.
