Man of Steel is by far one of the films we’re most looking forward to next summer. Following the end of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy this year, all eyes will be on Zack Snyder to see his vision for what could be the start of a new Superman franchise.
This summer brought with it an awesome teaser poster, followed by the immense first trailers for the film, and now Warner Bros. have officially announced that the film will be released next summer in 2D, 3D, and IMAX theatres when it arrives in June.
“In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.”
Henry Cavill takes the lead as Man of Steel, himself, starring alongside a brilliant cast, headed up by Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, and Michael Shannon as General Zod.
Snyder is directing from a script by David S. Goyer (the Batman trilogy), who co-wrote the story with the great Christopher Nolan himself, who also serves as producer.
The first trailers this summer were simply amazing, giving away almost nothing whatsoever, which is just how we like it.
Man of Steel is now officially set for release in 2D, 3D, and IMAX theatres next summer, arriving in the UK and US on 14th June, 2013. I can’t wait; this is going to be incredible.
