Man-of-Steel-BannerShane Black’s Iron Man 3 has finally hit theatres on both sides of the Atlantic, and the early numbers have been utterly immense. With the first really big blockbuster of the year now out of the stables, all eyes will soon start turning to Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel.

Snyder’s blockbuster is naturally one of the most anticipated movies of the year, and we couldn’t be more excited for it. Especially with talk of Snyder being offered the Justice League job if Man of Steel is as big a hit as we’re expecting it to be.

Having caught an awesome new poster for the movie this week, following the epic full-length trailer that debuted last month, Warner Bros. have now debuted an awesome new banner, with Henry Cavill flying high.

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

Cavill takes the lead as Clark Kent / Superman. And he’s joined by a brilliant cast, led by Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Russell Crowe, Diane Lane, Richard Schiff, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, and Laurence Fishburne.

Snyder is directing from a script by David S. Goyer, who co-wrote the story with frequent collaborator Christopher Nolan.

Man of Steel will be released in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D on June 14th in the US and UK. If you hadn’t already, be sure to commit that date to memory. This is guaranteed to be a movie of the year.
