Continuing our theme of press conferences from the 2010 London Film Festival here’s is the footage from today’s main event which was that of The King’s Speech.The King’s Speech is brou8ght to us by the Weinstein company and stars Colin Firth, Helena Bonham Carter, Geoffrey Rush, Guy Pearce, Timothy Spall and Michael Gambon while  Tom Hooper takes the directing reigns.

The King’s Speech premiered at the 35th Toronto International Film Festival to very impressive reviews and has it’s UK premiere this evening at the London Film Festival. Jon saw it this morning and loved it. His review will follow. The movie comes out in the UK 7th January 2011.

Synopsis: This is the story of the man who became King George VI, the father of Queen Elizabeth II. After his brother abdicates, George (‘Bertie’) reluctantly assumes the throne. Plagued by a dreaded stutter and considered unfit to be king, Bertie engages the help of an unorthodox speech therapist named Lionel Logue. Through a set of unexpected techniques, and as a result of an unlikely friendship, Bertie is able to find his voice and boldly lead the country into war.
