Kate-UptonIt may have taken a little longer to come together than we were hoping, but the Entourage movie is finally making headway, with the leading quintet recently reported as having all closed deals to return for the long-awaited feature film.

And whilst we can expect a slew of brilliant cameos – Entourage was nothing if not heaped with an amazing guest-starring cast – it looks like the project may have found someone to fill a new leading role.

The Wrap reports that model-turned-actress Kate Upton is in early talks to join the cast as the female lead, and though details on the role are being kept under wraps, it’s not too much of a stretch to speculate that she could well be the new love interest for our boy Vincent Chase.

Upton made her feature debut in Brett Ratner’s Tower Heist, and was part of the ensemble cast in the Farrelly brothers’ The Three Stooges last year, and she’ll soon be seen in Nick Cassavetes’ Spring 2014 comedy, The Other Woman, alongside Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.

In Entourage, Adrian Grenier will of course be back as Vinnie Chase, with Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara, and Jeremy Piven all back as well, reprising their leading roles from the brilliant original HBO series.

Those of you who’ve seen the original show will of course remember how it ends, with Ari Gold (Piven) poised to become the new head of Time Warner, and naturally it’s expected that the film will pick up where things left off.

Show creator Doug Ellin is set to be at the helm, penning the script himself. And here’s to hoping that Mark Wahlberg will be making another appearance on the expected long list of cameos.

The long-awaited Entourage movie is expected to go into production early next year, and with any luck, it won’t be too long before the film lands in cinemas.
