Kat Dennings (Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist) is set to reprise her role in Thor: The Dark World, Deadline has confirmed.
Dennings, who provided comic relief as Darcy Lewis in the first instalment, will play a bigger part in Marvel’s hotly anticipated sequel opposite other cast members Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba, Stellan Skarsgård, and Christopher Eccleston.
Thor: The Dark World is rumoured to center on the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim, a well known species from the Thor comic books who are ruled over by Malekith the Accursed, the role Eccleston is said to be playing.
Game of Thrones director Alan Taylor will take over the reigns from Kenneth Branagh, who opted out of returning for the sequel. The film is scheduled to hit cinemas on November 8, 2013.
