JAM Film FestivalThis weekend approximately one hundred movie buffs descended on Tullibole House near Kinross in Scotland for JAM (Just About Movies) film festival.

Invited to the event via the festival’s Facebook page, the attendees acted as willing test subjects ahead of what is hoped to be the event’s official launch at an as yet undetermined date next year.

Split over two screens (one of which was located deep in the surrounding woodland), the line-up included the likes of Premium Rush, The Commitments, Good Vibrations (presented by Glasgow Film Festival), Wrong  Turn, Drive and The Cabin In The Woods. The surprise movie, My Cousin Vinny, was chosen and introduced by film critic Paul Greenwood, following a brief film quiz.

With camping encouraged, food and drinks were available throughout the evening, in additional to alternative entertainment. The 17th Century venue also included a small band, stunning grounds and The Witches Maze, an impressive memorial to the Crook of Devon Witch Trials. A final film, The Breakfast Club, was also screened the following morning.

The event was a huge success with audience feedback proving overwhelmingly positive, and organisers Joe Bailey, Mo Bailey and Jo Hood are already looking forward to next year — as are Tullibole’s incredibly accommodating residents, the Moncreiff family. Expected to be expanded in size, and extended over three full days, there is certainly a lot of potential, and we here at HeyUGuys can’t wait to see where they take it from here.
