Jack-the-Giant-Slayer-Poster-EscapeJack the Giant Slayer will be hitting the big screen in the US this Friday, and all signs suggest Bryan Singer’s latest blockbuster will be racking up big numbers at the box office over the coming weekend.

Warner Bros. have done a strong job of promoting the film in recent months. And Nicholas Hoult’s box office-topping performance in Warm Bodies last month can only have helped pique interest for Jack the Giant Slayer.

We saw a great new TV spot land yesterday, along with a recent new poster. And following them up comes a new 60-second UK TV spot, promising an epic, action-filled blockbuster adventure.

“An ancient war is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack (Nicholas Hoult), into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom and its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend… and gets the chance to become a legend himself.”

The rising young Hoult (X-Men: First Class) is joined by a great cast, led by Ewan McGregor, Eleanor Tomlinson, Stanley Tucci, Bill Nighy, Ian McShane, John Kassir, Ewen Bremner, and Eddie Marsan.

Singer (X-Men) is directing from a script written by Dan Studney (Reefer Madness), Darren Lemke (Shrek Forever After), and Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects).

Jack the Giant Slayer will be released in 3D and IMAX 3D this Friday, 1st March, in the US. Its UK release date is set a little later, for 22nd March, but it looks like it’s going to be worth the wait. Here’s the latest TV spot to give you a taste of what to expect.
