Bryan Singer’s Jack the Giant Slayer will be hitting the big screen in just a few weeks’ time, bringing the classic beanstalk tale to life on an epic scale. We’re expecting a new trailer to land later on today, and ahead of its debut, Warner Bros. have released a trailer preview, along with the first clip from the film.

Nicholas Hoult, who topped the US box office last weekend in Warm Bodies, is set to do the same thing here at the start of next month. Hoult has deservedly been on the rise in recent years, and we’re looking forward to seeing more of him in the years to come.

“An ancient war is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack (Nicholas Hoult), into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom and its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend… and gets the chance to become a legend himself.”

Hoult is joined by an impressive cast, headed up by Ewan McGregor, Eleanor Tomlinson, Stanley Tucci, Bill Nighy, Ian McShane, John Kassir, Ewen Bremner, and Eddie Marsan.

Singer (X-Men) is directing from a script written by Dan Studney (Reefer Madness), Darren Lemke (Shrek Forever After), and Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects).

Jack the Giant Slayer will be released in 3D and IMAX 3D on 1st March in the US, with its UK release date set for 22nd March. Here’s the new trailer preview to get you in the mood, followed by the film’s first clip. Be sure to come back a little later on when the full trailer hits.
