It’s Official – Andrew Garfield is the New Spider-Man

StumbleUponRedditPinterestShare

After a truly mind numbing round of rumours and speculation about who would play Spidey in the upcoming Marc Webb reboot, we finally have a name. That name is Andrew Garfield.

Andrew Garfield is probably most recognisable to UK audiences for his role in the Red Riding Trilogy which he was excellent in.

He also had a small role in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and has a prominent role in Mark Romanek’s upcoming Never Let Me Go.

I think he’s a pretty interesting choice and at 26 he’s a little too old to play a teenage Peter Parker, something I was dreading to be honest.

Apparently set to begin shooting in December, the as-yet untitled Spider-Man reboot is due for release (in 3D) on the 3rd of July 2012.

So there you have it, Andrew Garfield is Spider-Man.
