Shane Black’s Iron Man 3 is one month away, to the day, from hitting the big screen on our shores, and I really cannot wait for it to land. My ticket is booked for the day of release, and I couldn’t be more excited about the start to Phase Two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The latest full-length trailer debuted at the start of the month, giving us another amazing look at one of the blockbusters-to-beat this year. And after catching a preview of this new TV spot at the end of last week, the full spot has landed online after airing during the Kids Choice Awards over the weekend.
Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3 pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?
Robert Downey, Jr. is joined by another awesome ensemble here, led by Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale, Jon Favreau, Wang Xueqi, Fan Bingbing, and Ben Kingsley, with Paul Bettany reprising his role as the voice of JARVIS.
Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) is taking over at the helm in place of Favreau this time around. And he’s directing from a script he co-wrote with Drew Pearce.
Iron Man 3 will be released in 3D and IMAX 3D on 25th April here in the UK, with its US release date set for the following week on May 3rd. This is going to be awesome.
