Iron-Man-3-IMAX-PosterShane Black’s Iron Man 3 just can’t come fast enough. The first film in Phase Two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe hits our shores in exactly one month, and you’d better believe it’s going to be one of the best films of the year.

Joss Whedon set the bar high with The Avengers last year, and I have complete faith that Black will rise to the occasion in coming to the table for Iron Man 3.

Following the full new TV spot we’ve recently seen, which aired over the weekend during the Kids Choice Awards, Marvel have now released an awesome new TV spot for the film, bringing back the sense of the epic for the upcoming blockbuster.

Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3 pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?

Robert Downey, Jr. is of course front and centre once more, reprising his role as Tony Stark / Iron Man. And he’s joined by another awesome ensemble, led by Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale, Jon Favreau, Wang Xueqi, Fan Bingbing, and Ben Kingsley, with Paul Bettany reprising his role as the voice of JARVIS

Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) has taken over the helm from Favreau, directing from a script he co-wrote with Drew Pearce (the upcoming Godzilla).

Iron Man 3 will be released in 3D and IMAX 3D on 26th April here in the UK, with its US release date set for May 3rd. I cannot wait. This is going to be immense. Here’s the new TV spot to prove it.

Since graduating, I spend as much time as possible watching films/TV shows, reading books, and listening to music. So getting to write about what I love is nothing short of awesome. Biggest film-related hope for 2014/ever: Guy Ritchie announcing the RocknRolla sequel is finally moving forward.
