Anne-Hathaway-and-Michael-Caine-in-The-Dark-Knight-RisesWe may not have many specifics on the plot, but the cast for Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar is seriously starting to come together nicely.

Matthew McConaughey was the first to be announced back in the spring, followed swiftly by Anne Hathaway last month. And we heard last week that Jessica Chastain is set to join the blockbuster as well.

And following on the hells of news of Chastain’s involvement, Deadline are reporting that Michael Caine has joined the cast alongside them.

The actor is, of course, no stranger to Nolan’s movies, with the two becoming frequent collaborators over the years.

Caine first worked with Nolan back in 2005 on Batman Begins. He then reunited with Nolan and Christian Bale for The Prestige the following year, and returned to the fold for The Dark Knight in 2008. Nolan’s Inception marked their fourth time working together in 2010, and Caine of course reprised his role as Alfred for one final time last year in The Dark Knight Rises, closing out Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy.

Interstellar will be their sixth time working together, and we can’t wait to see that happen. Especially with Caine reuniting here with Anne Hathaway as well. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the two will share more screen time here than they did in The Dark Knight Rises.

Little remains known about the specifics of the plot. But we do know this:

The film will depict a heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest reaches of our scientific understanding.

Nolan is directing from his own script, based on an original script penned by his brother, Jonathan Nolan, which he merged with an original idea of his own.

Interstellar has already been set for release on November 7th, 2014, and will be released in both regular and IMAX theatres. Regardless of how much we don’t know about the film, we can be sure it’s going to be amazing.
