Bright and early on Monday morning earlier this week, I got to go along to a fancy hotel just across the road from Westminster Abbey to attend the In Time Stunt Day to mark the release of the movie on DVD and Blu-ray on Monday 27th. I had no idea what to expect going into this other than being told that it would be a lot of fun and that I’d be in a suit while performing various acts of silliness! We also knew that Justin Timberlake’s stunt-double, Sam Hargrave was going to be there to give us tips on how to become stunt men and woman and as you’ll see from the video below, we gave it a fair crack!

It’s always nice to turn up to these events and see a friendly face or two. Well in this instance there were a dozen with the lovely people from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, the fab people from PR company Substance and my fellow stuntmen for the day, Ed Holden from MSN, James Wright from Zoo and Adam Stevens from Upbeat to name but a few. All of us looks as nervous as each other as we all turned up and changed into our suits for the day’s filming but we all knew it would be a lot of fun!

And how right we were! After watching a 15 minutes featurette called ‘The Minutes’ which details the origins of where the currency of the minutes in the movie actually came, we were interrupted by Sam Hargrave falling from the ceiling! You read that correctly! Behind the TV and the stage that we were facing, a large selection of crash-mats and cardboard boxes were in place for Sam to make the 20 odd foot jump down from the balcony above us (have a watch of the video below to see him in action. That set the bench for the rest of us as we all looked at one another hoping and praying that we weren’t going to be going hope with broken bones!

The rest of the day was spent learning a scene from In Time and again, if you watch the video below, you’ll get to see how I fared as well as snippets from my interview with Sam where he talks about how he got into stunt work in the first place, how you can get involved and gives you some tips and tricks for practicing at home.

The day spent doing this was completely nuts but I loved every second of it. I think crashing through the boxes was my favourite part of the routine and thanks to Upbeat for doing such an awesome job editing it all together. I’m not sure stunt performance is my forte but suffice to say, I now know how to throw a fake punch!

Enjoy the video below and don’t forget that In Time is available to pre-order for it’s release on Monday 27th February.

P.S. Look out for the moment when Mr Andrew Timms bottles me, he looks like he’s enjoying it rather a little too much!
