Idris-Elba-and-Sam-Worthington-join-Alive-AloneHaving worked together on Ridley Scott’s Prometheus, Noomi Rapace and Idris Elba are about to reunite for the New York-set thriller, Alive Alone.

News from Berlin has surfaced that Elba and Sam Worthington are joining the cast, with Thunder Road Pictures (We Are Marshall, Brooklyn’s Finest) making the film, currently being shopped to buyers at the European Film Market by Protagonist Pictures.

Matthias Schoenaerts (Rust and Bone) was originally signed on to take the male lead when Alive Alone was being shopped at Cannes last year, but he’s unfortunately had to pull out for personal reasons.

Elba will be taking his place, starring as Jamal, an ex-detainee of Guantanamo Bay now working as a taxi driver. Rapace stars opposite as Sarah, a prostitute on the run from a feared crime boss (Worthington). When their worlds collide, the two unexpectedly find salvation in each other.

Khurram Longi makes his feature debut as both writer and director, with his script featured on both the Black List and its British equivalent, the Brit List.

Basil Iwanyk (The Town) is producing, with Rapace making her producing debut as executive producer.
