Seth Gordon’s Horrible Bosses is by far one of the funniest films I’ve seen in years, and one of the most memorable. So needless to say, Horrible Bosses 2 is something I’m really looking forward to.
Talks of a sequel have been circling pretty much since the film was released back in the summer of 2011. And it was early last year that we got confirmation that the first film’s co-writers, John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, were going to be penning the sequel.
And now THR report that Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, and Jason Sudeikis have officially closed their deals, and will all be returning for Horrible Bosses 2. And not only that, but Jamie Foxx is in negotiations as well, and is likely to be reprising his role as Motherf**ker Jones.
The original film of course saw Batman, Day, and Sudeikis pitted against the likes of Jennifer Aniston, Colin Farrell, and Kevin Spacey, with each tasked with killing one of the others’ bosses. Whilst Farrell’s character died, Aniston’s and Spacey’s didn’t, and there is reportedly room for them to make cameos for this second time around.
The sequel will have a brand new set of bosses, and given the great casting of the original trio, I can’t wait to see who they bring on board for round two.
Gordon will be back in the director’s chair, with Brett Ratner and Jay Stern producing.
Horrible Bosses 2 is set to start production late in the summer this year, and would most likely be given a Summer 2014 release date, given the success the first film had in a summer slot. If it’s anywhere near as good as the original (and I really think it will be), this is going to be awesome. Whilst we wait for more news, here’s the trailer for the original film. Enjoy.
