Yesterday wasn’t all about the BIFA 2012 Awards but also the UK Premiere of Hitckcock (see our BIFA interviews here). The movie stars Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Biel, Anthony Hopkins, Michael Stuhlbarg, Helen Mirren, Ralph Macchio, James D’Arcy, Danny Huston, Toni Collette and is directed by Sacha Gervasi. We got to chat with acting royalty yesterday as we caught up with Sir Anthony Hopkins and Dame Helen Mirren joined by director Sacha Gervasi at the BFi Southbank as they waked the red carpet.

Hitchcock is released in the UK Friday 8th February.

Touted as a biographical comedy-drama that presents a behind-the-scenes look at the film, which was marred with controversy due to complaints about violence, nudity and other sexual content and claims that a body double was used in Leigh’s place during the shower murder scene. It will also focus on Hitchcock’s relationship with his wife Alma Reville. The Hitchcock plot follows the troubled financing of Psycho, the directors battles with Hollywood censors and Hitchcock’s desire to prove to his doubters, his wife and himself that he still had an edge.
