Last night, Sky Movies invited us along to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London for a rather fabulous evening in the Great Hall. Sky have this week launched a brand new section to their ever increasing catalogue of movies which boasts all 8 Harry Potter movies in one place and on demand whenever you feel the need to watch one. Sky do seem to be snapping up as many epic franchise as possible with both James Bond and now Potter all in the last few months. Our guess is that Star Wars is next although that may well be fun negotiation on how it will work after Disney have snapped up Lucasfilm!

I didn’t really know what to expect when we went along to the event so I took along my pal Fiona from Mum blogging website Curious Mum as backup! Joined by 60 other bloggers and competition winners, we all got to watch a Potter movie in the Great Hall which was a rather surreal experience.

Fiona had never been to the tour before so it was great to see her reaction as we walked into the Great Hall which never ceases to amaze me on the scale of the room and the intricate details that the designers went to when it was first created over a decade ago. The slightly odd sight was the multitudes of beanbags and comfy sofas that were aligned down the middle of the room. I’m sure they weren’t there in the movies!

After the rather fun photo-call which was headlined by Potter cast-members Jessie Cave and Oliver Phelps (Lavender Brown and George Weasley) we were all given an iPad and encouraged to watch our favourite Potter movie. Now, I have to confess, both Fiona and I did look at the runtime of each movie to determine which was the most appropriate to watch before ending up on the final movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 which I think must be one of my favourites anyway.

We both clicked go at exactly the same time and watched the movie in complete silence along with everyone else. Like I say, it was a very surreal experience watching a movie which features the set that you were actually sitting in! It was an extremely fun evening so thanks to Sky Movies for putting on the event and inviting us along. Some of the photos from that photocall are below as well as the one above of Fiona and I doing our best to look as much like Harry Potter as possible! How did we do?!

All 8 Harry Potter movies are on Sky Movies on-demand 24 hours a day right now!

Below is the press release with all the rest of the info.
