Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) has signed on to lead former Black List thriller Dead of Winter.
The rising starlet has added Dead of Winter to her impressive – and ever-growing – upcoming slate, which includes Romeo and Juliet, Ender’s Game and Can A Song Save Your Life.
Dead of Winter centers on a teenager who, upon arriving at a remote cabin in the mountains with her father and new stepmother, is terrorised by a psychotic park ranger.
Experienced music video man Anthony Mandler is attached to direct screenwriter Sarah Conradt’s highly mooted script, with production due to commence early next year.
Lionsgate are expected to snap up worldwide distribution rights in the not-too-distant future.
