Gears of War: Judgment will take place 14 years before the beginning of the first Gears of War, you will be stepping into the shoes of Lieutenant Damon Baird. Judgment will offer a more open Gears of War compared to its previous three outings.
Expect more tidbits of information to come out over the duration of E3 and beyond.
