Game of Thrones is less than two weeks from returning to the small screen, with its HBO premiere set for 31st March. The acclaimed series has already essentially been confirmed for at least a fourth season beyond the upcoming third, and quite likely a good few seasons after that.

HBO have been doing a great job of gearing everyone up for the programme’s return, giving us a new extended trailer at the start of the month, followed by a set of a dozen character posters. And now they’ve released two new previews, giving us a taste of ‘War’ and ‘The Beast’.

Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Michelle Fairley, Natalie Dormer, Jack Gleeson, Kit Harrington, and Lena Headey reprise their roles from past episodes. And joining them for the new season are Iwan Rheon, Ciarán Hinds, Noah Taylor, Kerry Ingram, Charlotte Hope, Clive Russell, Mackenzie Crook, Paul Kaye, Nathalie Emmanuel, and many more.

David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will be making their television directorial debuts this season, having co-created Game of Thrones, and served as co-writers throughout. It should be interesting to see how they work behind the camera, having worked together for so long now, bringing this to our screens.

They are of course adapting the original novel series, A Song of Fire and Ice, by George R.R. Martin. Martin is currently writing the sixth novel in the expected seven-volume series, and it’s very likely that HBO will see the adaptation through to the end of Martin’s work.

Game of Thrones Season 3 will be premiering on HBO on March 31st in the US, and will follow a day later in the UK on Sky Atlantic on 1st April. For now, here are the latest two previews for the series, to get you hooked on the next ten-episode cycle.
