With only one week to go until the new series of Game of Thrones airs in the UK on Sky Atlantic, we’re getting pretty excited counting down the days!

Tonight we’re in for sneak peek previews of the first episode aptly titled ‘Valar Dohearis’, which basically means ‘all men must serve’ in High Valyrian. With series two ending on a March of the White Walkers, Twyin Lannister newly appointed hand of the king, Danerys in search of her fire breathing winged children and Robb forsaking his promise to the Frey’s we’re expecting a truly epic start to the season.

There’s even more characters we’ll be introduced to includnig, Queen of Thorns (Diana Rigg), Ciaran Hinds (Mance Raydar), Mackenzie Crook (Orell) and Clive Russell (Ser Brynden Tully) but remember don’t get too attached, we all know how George R.R Martin likes to brutally dispose of some of the favourites.

Personally, we’re looking forward to seeing Iwan Roheon taking on the role of Ramsay Snow, cold and calculating Roose Bolton’s (Michael McElhatton) Bastard son. Iwan’s character is notoriously cruel, sadistic and chilling but will play an instrumental part in bringing to life some of my favourite ‘shock’ moments in the books.

No spoilers! But for those reading ahead (and we have), we’re expecting to see some pretty significant events this season but with so much to get through we’re literally on the edge of our seats.

What do you think we’ll be seeing tonight and what are you expecting to see this season? Well have a full review of the ‘Valar Dohearis’ coming soon.

Season 3 Synopsis:

The swords are sharpened, the soldiers hungry and the dragons… they’re growing: get ready to return to Westeros as the epic third season of the acclaimed Emmy® Award-winning Game of Thrones comes to Sky Atlantic HD, just a day after its US broadcast.
In the first episode, King’s Landing continues to be a cesspit of manipulation and machinations and Sansa, growing in confidence under the watchful eye of the Machiavellian Littlefinger, is keen to join in.
Elsewhere in the capital, Tyrion is after his just rewards for the part he played in the Battle of the Blackwater, but with his menacing father Tywin now commanding Joffrey’s ear as well as the fearsome Lannister forces he’ll be lucky to be given even the leftover morsels from the ever-more-terrifying boy-king’s plate.
In the snowy wastes of the extreme north, Jon Snow is brought before formidable wildling leader Mance Rayder, and bids to earn the trust of the King Beyond the Wall.

Meanwhile, across the narrow sea, Daenerys Targaryen continues to build strength after success in Qarth, and arrives in Slaver’s Bay with her faithful companion Ser Jorah looking to build an army.
