G.I. Joe: Retaliation finally lands in theatres next month, and promises to bring an almighty level of action to the big screen when it does. And in three dimensions, no less.
Last month, we were treated to an action-packed new trailer, with a four-minute preview attached to Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters. And last week brought with it two new Cobra recruitment posters for the viral campaign.
Now Paramount have released two new TV spots, continuing the explosive action theme.
“A follow-up to the 2009 release of G.I. JOE: RISE OF THE COBRA, which grossed over $300M worldwide, Paramount Pictures, MGM and Skydance Productions, in association with HASBRO and di Bonaventura Pictures, commences production on G.I. JOE: RETALIATION. In this sequel, the G.I. Joes are not only fighting their mortal enemy Cobra; they are forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardize their very existence.”
Channing Tatum, Ray Park, and Lee Byung-hun reprise their roles from the first film, with Dwayne Johnson, Adrianne Palicki, Elodie Yung, Ray Stevenson, RZA, D.J. Cotrona, Walton Goggins, Jonathan Pryce, and Bruce Willis himself completing the cast as Joe Colton.
Jon M. Chu is behind the camera, directing from a script penned by the brilliant Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Zombieland).
Everything we’ve seen gives the strong sense that G.I. Joe: Retaliation is going to be a big hit, with plenty of blockbuster-sized action sequences to enjoy next month.
