Previously titled Turkeys, Free Birds is set to hit theatres this November, in plenty of time for Thanksgiving across the pond.
The animated comedy-adventure movie sees Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson lend their voices as the leading duo, starring as two turkeys who are determined get their kind off the menu for the Thanksgiving festivities for good.
We’ve got four and a half months left on the clock before Relativity put the film into theatres, and they’ve launched the first trailer over on Apple.
In this hilarious, adventurous buddy comedy for audiences of all ages, directed by Jimmy Hayward (Horton Hears a Who!), two turkeys from opposite sides of the tracks must put aside their differences and team up to travel back in time to change the course of history – and get turkey off the Thanksgiving menu for good.
Wilson and Harrelson are joined by a fantastic voice cast, with Amy Poehler, Dan Fogler, Lesley Nicol, George Takei, Colm Meaney, Keith David, Eddie “Piolin” Sotelo, and Dwight Howard lending their vocal talents for the animated film.
Jimmy Hayward (Horton Hears a Who!) is at the helm, directing from a script penned by John J. Strauss (There’s Something About Mary) and David I. Stern (Open Season 2).
Free Birds will be released in 3D on November 1st in the US, with its UK release date following at the end of the month on 29th November. Here’s the first trailer to get you in the mood.
