So-Undercover-Quad-PosterHaving recently guest-starred twice on the ever-popular Two and a Half Men, Miley Cyrus will soon be returning to our screens – this time, on the big screen – taking the lead in So Undercover.

Due out in just a few weeks’ time, we saw the first trailer and posters for the film last month, and now Warner Bros. have released the first TV spot ahead of its release here in the UK.

“When the FBI hires her to go undercover at a college sorority, Molly Morris (Miley Cyrus) must transform herself from a tough, streetwise private investigator to a refined, sophisticated university girl to help protect the daughter of a one-time Mobster. With several suspects on her list, Molly unexpectedly discovers that not everyone is who they appear to be, including herself.”

The ever-brilliant Jeremy Piven (Entourage) stars as Cyrus’ contact at the FBI, with a promising supporting cast headed up by Autumn Reeser (The O.C.), Joshua Bowman (Revenge), Alexis Knapp (Pitch Perfect), Matthew Settle (Gossip Girl), Megan Park (The F Word), Mike O’Malley (Glee), and Kelly Osbourne.

Tom Vaughan (Starter for 10, What Happens in Vegas) is behind the camera, directing from a script by producer/first-time writer Steven Pearl (The Switch) and Allan Loeb (21, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps).

As much as I’m not the target demographic for this film, Piven’s involvement alone is enough to have me intrigued, and though that weekend will be reserved for me to see Celeste and Jesse Forever again (which is getting its release slightly later in the UK), I’d consider venturing out to see Piven in action soon after.

So Undercover will be hitting UK theatres on 7th December. Still no word yet on exactly when it will be landing in the US, The Weinstein Company acquired the film’s Stateside rights last year, and will likely be distributing it early next year, following their busy campaigning for the coming Oscar season.
