Jamie Bell has changed somewhat since the days of Billy Elliott. In one of these new images from ‘ The Eagle of the Ninth’ which were released today over on Yahoo Movies. These new images give us our first look at a topless Jamie Bell looking like he means business and some of the main character Marcus Aquila played by Channing Tatum. Mark Strong also makes an appearance (is he in every film coming out next year?!) as well as Donald Sutherland and Denis O’Hare in a film directed by Kevin Macdonald and based on the novel by Rosemary Sutcliff.
Synopsis: Set in Britain during the 2nd century A.D., it’s the story of a wounded Roman soldier and his Celtic slave who embark on a perilous journey into the far north to discover what happened to the Ninth Legion, which went on a mission into the wilds of Scotland 15 years earlier and never came back.
The soldier’s father was the legion’s general, and his disappearance, along with the loss of the legion’s symbol, the eponymous eagle, cast a stain upon his family.
The Eagle of the Ninth has no UK release date as yet but you can check out these new images in our gallery below.
