Shia-LaBeouf-and-Evan-Rachel-Wood-in-The-Necessary-Death-of-Charlie-CountrymanThe Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman sees Shia LaBeouf continuing to impress and defy expectations, breaking even further beyond his origins as the young lead of the Transformers franchise.

Lawless proved for a lot of people that he’s capable of so much, and with a handful of very interesting projects due out in the next year, we’ve got a lot to look forward to in LaBeouf.

Starring in the lead, the first image of LaBeouf has now debuted over at Collider, seen opposite Evan Rachel Wood, who plays his love interest, Gabi.

“Traveling abroad, Charlie Countryman falls for Gabi, a Romanian beauty whose unreachable heart has its origins in Nigel, her violent, charismatic ex. As the darkness of Gabi’s past increasingly envelops him, Charlie resolves to win her heart, or die trying.”

Starring alongside them will be a fantastic cast, headed up by Mads Mikkelsen, Rupert Grint, Melissa Leo, James Buckley, and Til Schweiger.

Frederik Bond is making his feature directorial debut, directing from a script penned by Matt Drake (Project X).

The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman is currently without a release date, but we’re hoping this will be coming our way sooner rather than later in 2013. For now, here’s the great first image of LaBeouf in the titular lead, which you can click through to enlarge.
