Ashton-Kutcher-in-jOBSThe late Steve Jobs is at the centre of two upcoming biopics, each with its own take on the life of one of the most well-known entrepreneurs in the world. And last night, it was announced that the first of those – jOBS – will be premiering at Sundance next month as the Closing Night Film.

Ashton Kutcher stars as the eponymous lead, and coming with last night’s announcement, the first official image of Kutcher has debuted online.

“The true story of one of the greatest entrepreneurs in American history, jOBS chronicles the defining 30 years of Steve Jobs’ life. jOBS is a candid, inspiring and personal portrait of the one who saw things differently.”

Starring alongside Kutcher is a promising cast, headed up by Josh Gad (Thank You For Sharing), Dermot Mulroney (The Grey), James Woods (The Virgin Suicides), Lukas Haas (Inception), Matthew Modine (The Dark Knight Rises), and J.K. Simmons (Spider-Man).

Joshua Michael Stern (Swing Vote) is behind the camera, directing from a script by Matt Whiteley, who makes his debut here as a writer.

Aaron Sorkin recently revealed that his upcoming biopic of Jobs, currently without a title, will be just three scenes long, and unfold in real-time, and it certainly sounds like an incredibly interesting approach to take. Naturally, we’re excited to see them both.

jOBS will be making its world premiere at Sundance next month as the Closing Night Film, and here’s to hoping that it will be reaching our screens in the UK and US shortly after. For now, here’s the first look at Kutcher as the late Steve Jobs.
