Director James Gunn has given the world a look at two new images from his upcoming indie superhero film, Super.
The film did well at this year’s Comic-Con event in San Diego, with the footage exciting critics and film fans alike, many comparing it to Matthew Vaughn’s Kick-Ass. Super stars Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page, Liv Tyler, Kevin Bacon and Nathan Fillion.
Synopsis: After his wife falls under the influence of a drug dealer, an everyday guy transforms himself into Crimson Bolt, a superhero with the best intentions, though he lacks for heroic skills.
The first image shows Rainn Wilson in his full Crimson Bolt attire, ready to fight crime, turning himself from an everyman into a hero. The second shows Frank D’Arbo, aka The Crimson Bolt, and Sarah Helgeland in a heated clinch.
Super has the potential to be a huge success, especially considering it’s originality, talented cast, renowned director and the fact it doesn’t take itself too seriously. My excitement has reached a new level after seeing these images, hopefully we’ll have a trailer to share will you soon.
