First Details on Limbo ‘Spiritual Successor’

Some details have emerged regarding the next game from Playdead Studios. The fine folk who bought us the most excellent Limbo. The new game, which has a working title of ‘Project 2′  will be a 2.5 platformer that will be “in colour” Project 2  ”tells the story of a boy’s struggle against evil forces trying to take over the world through questionable experiments on human bodies.” As you can see from the above piece of concept art, the game is keeping its dark theme, with the mysterious boy in question looking a lot sleeker and grown up than the hero found in Limbo. Playdead CEO Dino Patti explained  ”['Project 2' is] similar in many ways, but so different” and “more weird in many ways.”

Given that the game started development in 2010 and given that production is expected to last around 3 years we could be seeing project 2 sometime in 2013.
