Django-Unchained-PosterDjango Unchained is all but guaranteed to be one of the year’s best films, and I’m hoping it will see Quentin Tarantino and a handful of his cast and crew sail towards the Oscars when the nominations are announced in January.

We saw two brilliant new TV spots for the film earlier in the week, and now Yahoo Movies have debuted the final US trailer ahead of its release in the States of Christmas Day, in the height of the Oscar season.

“Set in the South two years before the Civil War, DJANGO UNCHAINED stars Academy Award(R)-winner Jamie Foxx as Django, a slave whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with German-born bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Academy Award(R)-winner Christoph Waltz). Schultz is on the trail of the murderous Brittle brothers, and only Django can lead him to his bounty. The unorthodox Schultz acquires Django with a promise to free him upon the capture of the Brittles–dead or alive.”

Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, and Leonardo DiCaprio lead a terrific cast, starring alongside Kerry Washington, Samuel L. Jackson, Jonah Hill, Don Johnson, and Walton Goggins.

Tarantino is naturally once more directing from his own script, reuniting with executive producers Bob and Harvey Weinstein.

Django Unchained will be hitting US theatres on Christmas Day, before coming to the UK slightly later on 18th January. I can’t wait. Smart money says it’s going to be even more awesome than the trailers would have you believe, and the trailers have been absolutely immense.
