Rita-Ora-and-Max-Martini-cast-in-Fifty-Shades-of-GreyWith production officially beginning on the Fifty Shades of Grey adaptation this week, Universal and Focus have cast two of the final roles in the movie, with Rita Ora and Max Martini boarding the ensemble.

Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan will of course take centre stage as Anastasia Steele and the eponymous Christian Grey.

Ora joins the cast as Grey’s sister, Mia, with Martini starring as his bodyguard, Jason Taylor.

Courtesy of Amazon, here’s the synopsis for the original novel.

When literature student Anastasia Steele interviews successful entrepreneur Christian Grey, she finds him very attractive and deeply intimidating. Convinced that their meeting went badly, she tries to put him out of her mind – until he turns up at the store where she works part-time, and invites her out.

Unworldly and innocent, Ana is shocked to find she wants this man. And, when he warns her to keep her distance, it only makes her want him more.

But Grey is tormented by inner demons, and consumed by the need to control. As they embark on a passionate love affair, Ana discovers more about her own desires, as well as the dark secrets Grey keeps hidden away from public view.

Eloise Mumford, Luke Grimes, and Jennifer Ehle complete the supporting cast alongside the newly-added Ora and Martini.

Ora is making what is essentially her feature debut in the role, having an uncredited appearance in this year’s Fast and Furious 6, and a role before making a name for herself in the music industry in 2004’s Spivs.

Martini was recently seen in Paul Greengrass’ Oscar contender, Captain Phillips, and was coincidentally seen opposite Charlie Hunnam, who was originally pegged for the role of Christian Grey, in Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim earlier in the year.

Sam Taylor-Johnson (Nowhere Boy) is at the helm, with Kelly Marcel (Saving Mr. Banks) penning the script, and Patrick Marber (Closer) doing a rewrite, based on E.L. James’ best-selling novel of the same name.

Fifty Shades of Grey is due to be released on February 13th, 2015, and is no doubt going to be one of the biggest movies at the box office over the Valentine’s weekend.
