Last year the two towers of Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg combined to bring Hergé’s bequiffed junior hero to the big screen in a CG/Mo-cap explosion which impressed many and promised much for the next film in the series.

The film is out on Blu-ray and DVD in a week’s time and we’ve got a clip to entice, delight and intrigue. Though, possibly not in that order.

The cast is a solid one, the writers did a fine job with taking elements of several of the beloved books and massaging them into a coherent storyline while maintaining the essence of one boy and his dog. The CG overload does affect the film slightly and there’s no getting away from the fact that the spectre of Tom Hanks’s dead eyed zombie from The Polar Express looms large over this. However there’s a dog, and that’s usually enough for most people.

Steady now. Clip ahoy.
