Warner Bros. gives Green Light to the Entourage Movie

StumbleUponReddit

EntourageIt’s a great week for Entourage fans everywhere. From 2004 to 2011, the brilliant TV show was a perfect example of the increasingly exceptional programming on television, particularly from HBO.

When the final season concluded last year, it gave us all hope that more would be coming, and creator Doug Ellin has spoken over the last two years about his intentions to make a movie following on from where things left off.

Thankfully, it looks like we won’t have quite as long a wait as we’ve had for Arrested Development (which we can’t wait to see return with Season 4 this spring on Netflix). Deadline are reporting that Warner Bros. have officially given the green light to the movie!

And I couldn’t be happier.

Ellin will be directing the film from his own script. And we imagine that Mark Wahlberg and Stephen Levinson, who served as executive producers on the show, will be back to work alongside Ellin on this.

The report notes that deals are starting to be made with all the original leading cast, including Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara, and Jeremy Piven.

Whilst there’s no official word yet, it’s a safe bet to presume that we’ll have plenty more familiar faces to look forward to, including Rex Lee (playing Lloyd), Perry Reeves (playing Piven’s on-screen wife, Melissa ‘Mrs. Ari’ Gold), Debi Mazar (playing Shauna), Emmanuelle Chriqui (playing Sloan), Scott Caan (playing Scott), Rhys Coiro (playing Billy Walsh), Beverly D’Angelo (playing Barbara Miller), and Constance Zimmer (playing Dana Gordon). And if things pick up where they left off, then hopefully Alan Dale will be back as John Ellis.

And of course, we can expect a slew of famous faces to guest star, just like the show.

There’s no official start date as of yet for this, but just knowing that it has the green light is brilliant news in itself. The Entourage movie has been immensely anticipated by all its fans, and I can’t wait to see how this turns out.

It’s going to be very interesting to see how it translates from its small-screen running time to a full feature. No doubt Ellin has plenty in store to make it amazing. More as we get it.

SPOILER ALERT: This is the final scene of the series. A little reminder of where Entourage left off, but not to be watched if you’re not up to date!
