There should be little doubt in your mind that Seth MacFarlane’s feature directorial debut with Ted is going to be comedy genius.
It’s a film we’ve been looking forward to for a long time – the creator of Family Guy, American Dad!, and The Cleveland Show behind the camera for a hundred-plus-minute live-action feature? It’s foolproof.
We’ve seen a handful of brilliant things from the film in recent months – the first red-band trailer back in April was immense – that point to its expected awesomeness, and now four new clips from the film have made their way online.
“Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane brings his boundary-pushing brand of humor to the big screen for the first time as writer, director and voice star of Ted. In the live action/CG-animated comedy, he tells the story of John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg), a grown man who must deal with the cherished teddy bear who came to life as the result of a childhood wish…and has refused to leave his side ever since.”
Alongside MacFarlane as the voice of the eponymous Ted will of course be Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis (with whom MacFarlane has a history already in Family Guy), as well as Giovanni Ribisi, Patrick Warburton (another Family Guy veteran), Laura Vandervoort, Jessica Stroup, Joel McHale, and Ralph Garman, co-written by MacFarlane, Alec Sulkin (Family Guy), and Wellesley Wild (Family Guy).
Ted will be released in the US earlier than initially planned on 29th June – Universal jumping on the slot Paramount had scheduled for G.I. Joe: Retaliation before pushing it back. Here in the UK, we’ve a little longer to wait for its 1st August release, but you know it’s going to be one of the funniest films of the summer, so it will definitely be worth the wait. Here are the new clips to prove it.
