Fresh from helping Carey Mulligan with An Education and soon to be seen in the world of Tamara Drewe the rising star of Dominic Cooper may soar new heights if the news coming out from Salon today is confirmed – Cooper is set to play Howard Stark in the Joe Johnston directed Captain America: The First Avenger movie.
It’s barely noticeable in Salon’s interview, almost resigned to a footnote but for fans of the converging Marvel Universe the news of a relatively big actor taking on this role means that we’re sure to see a lot of Stark Snr in the Captain America film.
John Slattery played the part in Iron Man 2 and his role was a pivotal one and I’m sure everyone noticed the tarnishing of the Captain America shield in Stark’s laboratory so the lines are already being drawn.
