Just before the New Year, the first trailer for Niels Arden Oplev’s Dead Man Down leaked online, giving us a great first look at the upcoming action/crime thriller.
As expected, the trailer was quickly removed from the Internet, but now Apple have released the first official trailer, slightly longer in length with an extra thirty-second opening, giving us that much more to look forward to.
“DEAD MAN DOWN is an action thriller that stars Colin Farrell and Noomi Rapace as two strangers whose mutual desire for revenge draws them together and triggers an escalating trail of mayhem. The film, which also stars Academy Award nominee Terrence Howard and Dominic Cooper, marks the American theatrical debut of director Niels Arden Oplev (the original The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo).”
Colin Farrell and Noomi Rapace take the lead here, with Rapace reteaming with Oplev following their critically-acclaimed first partnership on the original The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
Terrence Howard and Dominic Cooper complete the cast nicely, with Oplev directing from a script by J.H. Wyman (Fringe, The Mexican), and Wyman producing alongside Neal H. Moritz (Fast Five, I Am Legend).
Dead Man Down has its US release date set for 8th March, and it looks like this is one to keep an eye out for in the spring. No word yet on a UK release date, but here’s to hoping that that will soon change. With a line-up led by Farrell and Rapace, it really ought to. For now, here’s the first official trailer. Enjoy.
