Christopher-Nolan-and-Hans-ZimmerHans Zimmer is, hands down, one of the greatest film composers of all time, with a slew of amazing film scores to his name. His work on The Dark Knight Trilogy is amongst the most memorable of all films in recent years, and Zimmer has officially revealed that he’ll be partnering with Christopher Nolan once more for the writer-director’s next feature, Interstellar.

Whilst doing an interview for Zack Snyder’s upcoming Man of Steel, Zimmer’s score for which we are very much excited to hear in full, he revealed to Collider that he has in fact already begun work on Nolan’s upcoming blockbuster.

“I wrote something, and I’m writing that. So yes, we have started.”

Casting has been getting underway very nicely in the past couple of months for Nolan’s Interstellar. Matthew McConaughey was the first name to be thrown into the ring back in March, and he’s set to take the lead for Nolan’s anticipated follow-up to The Dark Knight Rises.

Anne Hathaway come on board next to reunite with Nolan for Interstellar after last year’s Batman finale, with Michael Caine most recently signing on to reunite with him as well, alongside Jessica Chastain.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, as you can imagine. But here’s what we do know:

The film will depict a heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest reaches of our scientific understanding.

Nolan is directing from his own script, based on an original script by his brother and frequent collaborator, Jonathan Nolan (The Dark Knight Trilogy), which Christopher Nolan has merged with his own original idea.

Zimmer has worked with Nolan many times over the years, scoring all three films in The Dark Knight Trilogy, as well as Inception, and working as an exec. music producer on The Prestige. His most recent work on Snyder’s Man of Steel of course reunited him with Nolan once more, with the latter on board as a producer and co-writer of the story.

Interstellar is set to be released in regular and IMAX theatres on November 7th, 2014, which is definitely a release date that can’t come fast enough. With Zimmer now on board, and already beginning work on scoring the film, you’d better believe that it’s going to have an epic soundtrack to enhance the awesomeness of the film.

And in case you need any reminding, here’s a little reminder of how epic Zimmer’s work is in The Dark Knight Rises.
