StumbleUponRedditPinterestShare

In surprising, yet celebratory news, it has been announced that Chris Fujiwara will retain his position as Artistic Director for the Edinburgh International Film Festival for a further three years after signing a new contract.

The news was revealed moments ago via the Edinburgh International Film Festival website and after a twelve-day event that saw the festival recapture its magic after last year’s misfire with a diverse programme, which included 121 feature films, two retrospectives, short programme’s and the reinstating of the Michael Powell and International Awards.

Commenting on his three-year contract, Fujiwara said, “I’m deeply grateful to the board for their confidence in me, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to expand our relationships with our audiences and with international filmmakers, distributors and sales agents.”

The Edinburgh International Film Festival will return for its 67th instalment between June 13 – 24, 2013.

In the meantime, why not catch up on all the coverage from this year’s festival here.
