Star Wars hits cinemas today with one extra dimension than we saw back in 1999 when the movie was first released, back then there was so much hype and anticipation for the movie that everyone thought was going to be the greatest prequel of all time. Unfortunately, although the movie made an absolute fortune, it is inherently rubbish (feel free to disagree in the comments below) making you want to punch the screen in anger.

This video has found it’s way onto YouTube and is a special MTV screening from 1999 at Skywalker Ranch that George Lucas put on for as many celebs as possible before anyone had really seen it. Like I say, the movie had so much hype that literally everyone wanted to be there as this video shows.

In the video, we get to see interviews with a very young looking Elijah Wood, Justin Timberlake (as part of N-Sync at the time), Ozzy Osbourne, Tori Spelling, Katie Holmes (before she’d married her now-husband Tom Cruise) to name but a few all with The Backstreet Boys playing in the background. It’s all rather surreal but what get’s me is the anticipation for something so great!

French actor, Jean Dujardin has recently hit the big time in the English speaking world after his stunning performance in The Artist (our coverage here) and with the Oscars coming up, there was no better time to get involved with the terrific people at Funny or Die to create an brilliant skit about European actors who end up playing the villain in movies after they’ve made their debut performance -  Christoph Waltz is one example.

In this video embedded below, you will see Dujardin in amazing audition performances for The Muppets 2, Die Hard 5, Pirates of the Caribbean 4, Skyfall, The Bourne Legacy, The Smurfs 2 and many many more.

Here’s a rather surreal shot for a Friday morning but it amused me greatly and had to go up! It’s not often you’ll see two of the greatest 80s action stars in bed next to one another but today is the day to make it happen as Arnold Schwarzenegger posted a picture on WhoSay.com of himself and Sylvester Stallone in adjacent hospital beds after they ‘bumped’ into one another while waiting to be seen for shoulder injuries.

After all the action, stunts & physical abuse shooting The Expendables 2 and The Last Stand, it was time for a little tune up on my shoulder. Look who was coincidentally waiting in line behind me for his shoulder surgery. Now we’re ready for another round of great times and action when we shoot The Tomb. #greattobeback

As Schwarzenegger mentioned in the text, we’ll see  the pair of them in The Expendables 2 which hits cinemas in August.

We love McG here at HeyUGuys mainly because he recently serenaded Ben on the red carpet at the premiere of his new movie and it made us laugh a lot! This video below could probably go down as one of the most random videos we’ve ever posted on HeyUGuys. It was so random that I thought it needed to go up! While searching for videos on YouTube for This Means War, I can across this rather crazy footage which basically shows director McG and one of the stars of the film Tom Hardy dropping their pants (in the English sense of the word) and getting shot in the bum with paintball guns!

It was obviously part of a dare and it’s interesting to see that neither Chris Pine nor Reese Witherspoon joined the two crazy blokes in the fun! One thing it does show is that McG is obviously a man that you want to have around if you’re up for a bit of fun on set and also that Tom Hardy is up for anything.

I’d give some caution that this video is probably NSFW and contains swearing but is a rather funny watch as it shows two famous people having a lot of fun!

This Means War is released March 2nd and if you missed it yesterday, here’s nine minutes of the film for you to watch. We also have interviews with Reese, McG and Chris Pine from the UK premiere and we’ll have a more in-depth video with McG nearer the release of the movie.

Lana Del Rey’s well known song Video Games was ripe for the picking when Holly Laurent from The Second City and Martin Wilson from Mister Important Words decided to parody the music video by turning it into a tibute for The Hunger Games! The video has already had 35 000 views on YouTube since it was posted yesterday and no doubt that will rise steadily! It’s a great little parody from a great song so have a little watch below and enjoy!

We’ve had the cuddly Bane, the cuddly Cat Woman and the cuddly Batman but I know all of you were disappointed that no one had brought out a Mr. Potato Head Batman character! Well, fear not as BigBadStore.com are selling this rather fetching version of the everyone’s favourite potato character known as ‘The Dark Knight Spud’!

Mr. Potato Head was a main character in the Toy Story franchise and with the possibility of a fourth movie, I am desperate for Disney to get talking to Warner Bros. to get The Dark Knight Spud to feature in the new movie! Get those lawyers chatting studio people!

He’s due to arrive June 2012 so get your pre-orders in!

This is rather fantastic news and massive kudos to Orange to have the bottle to make this happen but we’ve just received a press release alerting us to the fact that Miss Piggy will be on the red carpet at the 2012 BAFTA Awards to interview the stars as they walk down the carpet. There was talk of both Miss Piggy and Kermit hosting the Oscars a few months ago but they were ditched for Billy Crystal so this really is a big plus for the BAFTA Awards and will no doubt get picked up all over the place!

Orange are the main sponsor of Britain’s biggest awards ceremony and have taken the rather brave decision to get Miss Piggy to be their main presenter on the red carpet for the awards this Sunday 12th February. I say ‘brave’ for two reasons….

1. She will do her best to steal the show and make it all about herself
2. I can’t even begin to imagine the logistical nightmare that it must be to get Miss Piggy to do the interviews on the carpet with the certain requirements that she must have!

Miss Piggy will no doubt get a few plugs for her new movie, The Muppets which is released this Friday in during the course of the show but I simply cannot wait to see the most famous pig in the world hit the carpet and interview some a-listers. If you’ve been to the cinema recently, the latest Orange advert uses The Muppets to ask you to turn your phone off before the movie so it seems the relationship between Orange and The Muppets (Disney) grows even stronger!

Orange today announced that, in her own words, “international star, role model and diva,” – the fabulous Miss Piggy – is set to put her unique questions to the great and the good of the international movie scene at this weekend’s Orange British Academy Film Awards ceremony as the host of its ‘Orange BAFTA Red Carpet Show With Miss Piggy’.

Miss Piggy needs no introduction; star of film, TV and the upcoming Disney movie ‘The Muppets’ released nationwide on February 10th, she has been a pop culture icon known for her wit, charm and for having a certain frog on her arm. In a UK first she will be anchoring the ‘Orange BAFTA Red Carpet Show With Miss Piggy’ from the ceremony, conducting interviews and analysis with the leading lights of the movie industry; from the huge array of home-grown talent as well as many famous faces flying in from around the globe, in her own inimitable style.

The glittering awards ceremony will take place on Sunday 12 February at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, London just two days after ‘The Muppets’ goes on general release across the UK.

To stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10 million needed to save the theatre, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino tribute band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate. From the moment I woke up that morning I knew something incredible was going to happen.

It was press day for the film “Chronicle” and I was set to interview the films Director Josh Trank and the three main cast members Dane DeHaan, Alex Russell and Michael B. Jordan. I drove to the 20th Century Fox studio and was shuffled into a soundstage for my interviews.

First up was Director Josh Trank. Our interview was fine up until he let slip that he had specifically cast DeHaan, Russell & Jordan because of their unique abilities. Unique abilities?  I continued to pester him for information until he said they “might” have their own telekinetic secrets.  It was preposterous, I know, but for some reason the PR person in the room ended the interview right then and there and sent me off to interview the cast.  Strange right?

I still had another 2 minutes with him. I walked next door to another soundstage containing our “heroes”.  Before asking my prepared questions I had to see if what Trank had let slip had any weight to it.  The video below is actual footage from my interview that was never supposed to see the light of day.

Luckily I have some sneaky friends who work at the studio and they were able to send this over to me. I was asked to sign a piece of paper saying I would never speak about what I saw there that day.  I gladly signed in exchange for  proper interviews.  Seeing as those interviews are now up (Josh Trank & Cast) for the world to see I thought it a perfect time to reveal this to our readers.

I couldn’t believe it on the day but seeing this footage again really freaks me out. Check it out and see the real deal in theaters now (and click here for our Chronicle coverage)!!

I was literally about to hit the hay when I spotted an Expendables Facebook page (with a nod to MovieWeb) put up these three rather astonishing comic promotional images for the new movie. They show Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham and Scott Adkins, in comic form and I absolutely love them! I have no idea if these are official or not (I’m pretty sure they are not – let me know if I’m wrong) but thanks to however made them for doing something a little different and putting a smile on my face! If of course they are legit, kudos to Lionsgate for doing something a bit different with your marketing plans.

Here’s something you don’t see every day! Last night, Ben Mortimer and Colin Hart attended the UK premiere of This Means War in Kensington, London (see their full report including interviews with Reese Witherspoon and Chris Pine shortly) and ended up being serenaded by the film’s director.

This footage shows what sort of atmosphere was on the carpet last night as Ben Mortimer’s dreams came true as the Terminator Salvation Director, McG decided to sing Michael Jackson’s song ‘Ben’ to him on the spot!

I’ll say no more but watch on and enjoy!

This Means War is released in the UK March 2nd.

Late last week, we put up a 10 second teaser trailer for an unnamed advert and through various sources we then heard that it was going to be for a new Honda advert. Well, that advert (which will debut in the US during the Superbowl) has now been placed on YouTube.

It’s not quite as good as I was hoping for but seeing Matthew Broderick (the star of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off) mocking various bits of the film and taking it in a new direction is pretty amusing nonetheless.

I’ve placed it below for your viewing pleasure. There’s numerous visual references to the 1986 movie so keep your eyes peeled.

The Artist is current scouring the globe for nominations and eventual wins in every category going but as this awesome blooper reel for the movie shows, not quite everything went to plan. That said, it is simply brilliant watching the cast have as much fun with the movie as you’d see from any normal blooper reel from any other movie, just in silence!

This has made my evening complete! It’s only 10 seconds long but this teaser trailer has hit YouTube for an as yet unnamed commercial that is going to play over the Super Bowl on February 5th. It simply has Matthew Broderick looking to camera as he opens his curtains in a hotel room saying “How can I handle work on a day like today” followed by a couple of beats from the song ‘Oh Yeah’ which features in one of the greatest films of all-time Ferris Bueller’s Day Off by the legendary John Hughes.

Those 10 seconds are all you need to get the Ferris Bueller goose bumps going and I cannot wait to see the full commercial for whatever it is when the Super Bowl hits next weekend.

Love this! Summit have released a new trailer with Elizabeth Banks narrating over the top of it in a rather comical way. A lot of it is her talking about how she things Sam Worthington is fit and how she’d  love to ‘tap’ Ed Harris comparing him to a fine bottle of wine that gets better with age! She also does an awesome job at taking the mickey our of herself acting in the trailer and I am now even more gutted that my interview with her tomorrow got cancelled! Gotta love Elizabeth Banks!

I’ve been away for the past week on my hols (and how I missed you all) and have come back to find that the most powerful man in the world has been to see Micky Mouse! The President of the United States, Barack Obama visited Disney World in Orlando Florida late last week to promote tourism in the US.

I don’t really have much more to add to the text on this one but loved the photos of POTUS stood in front of Cinderella’s Castle and decided to put some up. I love the photo of his motorcade going into Disney World. I wonder if he had to pay parking or if they got him a good spot!

American President Barack Obama doesn’t often get a mention on HeyUGuys, what with his day-to-day activities not really being aligned with the things we cover, but it seems he’s two-for-two in the past two days.

Yesterday, we reported that Obama sent the lovely Zooey Deschanel a birthday letter, thanking her for the positive impact she’s had on young women across America. And today, whilst not directly related to the movie industry (whatsoever, really), I thought it would be nice to share this clip of Obama singing a few bars of Al Green’s iconic Let’s Stay Together.

As MSN report, the President has adopted the song as his 2012 re-election campaign theme, and a fundraiser yesterday, he took to the podium and started his speech off with a few lines.

Beautiful.

The song first came out back in 1971 and has since been covered by artists as wide-ranging as Tina Turner, Michelle Williams, Seal, Michael Bolton, and Boyz II Men. Now we can (in a way) add Barack Obama’s name to that list.

Fans of Quentin Tarantino’s films might recall that the song also appeared in a brilliant scene (which I’ve embedded for you below) in his 1994 cult classic, Pulp Fiction, when Ving Rhames tells Bruce Willis he has to take a dive in the fifth round. Classic song for a classic film. (N.B. The Pulp Fiction clip below is not suitable for work; as you can imagine, expletives abound.)

(And on a totally unrelated note, whilst checking on YouTube to see if Bush had done much singing in his time, I came across the third clip below, which someone has ingeniously put together, of George W. Bush ‘singing’ U2’s Sunday Bloody Sunday, cut together from various speeches. You can see why it’s got more than a million and a half views.)

Impressive stuff. I think I might just have to favourite them both. Without further ado, here’s some presidential singing to brighten up this rainy Friday afternoon.

If, like me, Rugrats was one of your favourite childhood treasures, you should love this. Funny or Die, well-known for their joke/parody videos, a lot of which star some brilliant celebrities, have filmed a live-action trailer of the original Rugrats cartoon, starring Alia Shawkat as Chuckie Finster, Mae Whitman as an even more evil Angelica Pickles, Michael Angarano as Tommy Pickles, and Sarah Ramos as the twins Phil and Lil DeVille.

As can be expected from Funny or Die, it’s dark, it’s a lot of fun, and it’s R-rated, so if you’re currently at work, be sure to check back in later to watch it then (unless your boss is pretty laid-back).

It has everything a good trailer needs. Murder, deception, addiction, baby-vs.-baby violence. I’m a big Arrested Development fan, so just seeing Alia Shawkat and Mae Whitman back together is a win-win situation for me. Whitman is pretty damn menacing as Angelica, and Shawkat plays Chuckie with real class; her hunkered-down humming of the main theme – which has been eerily playing throughout – whilst rocking herself in a dark corner is brilliant.

Shawkat and Whitman will be working together again soon with the return of Arrested Development, which really can’t come fast enough. Until then, here’s the great comedy trailer (with thanks to Collider for the tip-off), written and directed by Ryan Perez, with its dark and R-rated take on the original beloved kids’ TV series. Enjoy.

From the maker of The Lion King Rises comes… WALL-ETHEUS.

At the start of the new year, you might have caught the brilliant mash-up trailer for The Dark Knight Rises and The Lion King. Another great new mash-up trailer has surfaced from the same guy who edited that together, Brad Hansen, which cuts together the beloved WALL-E and Ridley Scott’s upcoming Prometheus, and it’s pretty excellent.

The trailer for Prometheus landed at the end of last year, just in time for Christmas, and we can look forward to seeing it on the big screen here in the UK on 1st June. Judging by what we’ve seen so far, it’s going to be immense, with a cast that includes Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Logan Marshall-Green, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, and Patrick Wilson.

Released back in 2008, Pixar’s WALL-E was directed by Andrew Stanton (whose upcoming John Carter is due out this year – you can catch up on all things related here), and earned the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, as well as taking north of a rather cool $500m. at the international box office.

Mix the two together and what do you get?

Something epic.

Just like the combination of The Dark Knight Rises and The Lion King brought a new sense of intensity to the visuals of the latter’s original trailer, so too do we get a great added level of awesomeness this time around with the mash-up between Prometheus and WALL-E. Enjoy.
