Orange Is The New Black took away a number of awards at the fourth annual Critics’ Choice Television Awards last night, winning Best Comedy Series and recognition for some of the key cast members.
Despite having some very stiff competition from True Detective, Breaking Bad unsurprisingly won Best Drama Series for its final season. It was revealed earlier this year that HBO had decided to put True Detective forward in that category for all upcoming awards shows rather than as a Miniseries (which Fargo won), and it could be a decision which backfires due to the amazing end of Walter White’s journey.
However, Matthew McConaughey’s winning streak continues as he won for Best Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Rust Cohle. Fargo (which recently wrapped up its first season in the US and is currently airing on Channel 4 in the UK) meanwhile saw Billy Bob Thornton recognised for his impressive performance.
