Released in just under two months’ time, Men In Black III returns us to a franchise that we pretty much all know and love. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones have worked brilliantly opposite each other in the first two films, and all we’ve seen so far suggests we can look forward to a great third instalment, more than a decade since the last film.

Special effects have of course only been going in one direction in the years since the second film, and you can be sure that we’re in for a real treat with Men in Black III – if you don’t believe me, you can see for yourself in the latest trailer here.

And if that’s not enough to persuade you, we have some new images taking us behind the scenes with makeup effects artist Rick Baker (Men in Black, An American Werewolf in London, How The Grinch Stole Christmas), who is an impressive seven-time Oscar-winner, showing off what looks like terrific work with some of the aliens we’ll be getting in the new film.

“In Men in Black III, Agents J (Will Smith) and K (Tommy Lee Jones) are back… in time. J has seen some inexplicable things in his 15 years with the Men in Black, but nothing, not even aliens, perplexes him as much as his wry, reticent partner. But when K’s life and the fate of the planet are put at stake, Agent J will have to travel back in time to put things right. J discovers that there are secrets to the universe that K never told him — secrets that will reveal themselves as he teams up with the young Agent K (Josh Brolin) to save his partner, the agency, and the future of humankind.”

Along with Smith and Jones, Josh Brolin will be entering the fray as the young Agent K, and we’ll also be getting a host of other great new and old faces, including Emma Thompson, Alice Eve, Bill Hader, Nicole Scherzinger, and Jemaine Clement as the lead villain (who/which you can see below), with Barry Sonnenfeld returning behind the camera for the third time.

Men in Black III will be released in 3D on 25th May here in the UK and over the US, which means as of today (the 26th), we officially have less than two months to go before we get to revisit J and K for the first time in over ten years. As usual with these great new images, you can click to enlarge.
