Bringing the banners to a total number of nine and the posters to a total level of awesomeness, Warner Bros. have released an awesome new Catwoman poster in keeping with that immense first poster of Bane that surfaced just before Christmas, as well as three more banners each giving us a look at one of the leading trio in Batman, Catwoman, and Bane.
Last week brought with it a total of seven new posters, 2 TV spots, eight new images, and six new banners, marking the start of what could well be a saturation campaign over the coming weeks and months ahead of the release this summer of Christopher Nolan’s final instalment of his and brother Jonathan’s Batman trilogy with The Dark Knight Rises.
What I think could be interesting about this pending saturation campaign is that, it being a Nolan brothers film, anything and everything we see over the coming eight weeks might be just scratching the surface in terms of what we have to look forward to on 20th July.
Penned by the Nolan brothers, from a story by Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer, the film of course sees the return of Christian Bale as the vigilante known as Batman, with one of the finest supporting casts this year, including Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, and Morgan Freeman.
Last year’s first Bane poster showed a shattering Batman mask, and now this brilliant new poster shows Catwoman crushing a batarang beneath the heel of her boot – Batman’s not got an easy ride ahead of him.
Hats off to a very astute reader of Batman-News.com, who noticed that one of this last week’s posters contained a QR stamp at the bottom which, when scanned, takes you to the film’s official website and reveals this brilliant new character poster.
The Dark Knight Rises will be released in regular and IMAX theatres on 20th July, so if that date wasn’t already committed to memory, make sure you do that now. You’re going to want to see this as soon as possible, on as big a screen as possible, as many times as possible – I saw Inception four times at the cinema, and can already envisage topping that personal record in two months’ time.
Catch up on all our coverage from the film so far here, and as usual with this awesome poster and these three great new banners below, you can click to enlarge.
