New NSFW TV Spot for American Mary – ‘Do You Think I’m Crazy?’

StumbleUponReddit

American-Mary-PosterDebuting at FrightFest last year to excellent early reviews, American Mary has been on limited release here in the UK since last weekend, and is arriving on DVD and Blu-ray on our shores today.

The horror film festival favourite has been praised for its thrills and chills, with Jen and Sylvia Soska (a.k.a. the Twisted Twins) continuing to make a name for themselves in the genre.

We saw a great new trailer and set of posters just before the end of last year, and with its arrival on home entertainment today, Momentum have released a great new TV spot to get us all in the mood to go and pick it up off the shelves.

As you can imagine, the video below is a little bit bloody, and thus somewhat not suitable for work.

“One of the year’s most horrific highlights, American Mary tells the story of broke student Mary Mason (Katharine Isabelle) who grows disenchanted with medical school and the doctors she once idolised. The allure of easy money sends a desperate Mary through the gruesome world of underground surgeries but soon finds they leave more marks on her than the so-called freakish clientele…

Smart, sexy, funny and utterly gorgeous to look at, American Mary features a standout lead performance from horror icon Katharine (Ginger Snaps) Isabelle, and puts the Soska Sisters, aka the Twisted Twins, squarely at the forefront of modern horror filmmaking. Unmissable.”

Katharine Isabelle stars as the young titular lead, Mary, and her performance has particularly been noted in the film’s reviews for being excellent.

Jen and Sylvia Soska return behind the camera, once more directing from their own script.

American Mary has been playing in a limited engagement in UK theatres, and is released on DVD and Blu-ray on our shores today. The US rights were picked up by XLrator Media last month, with an eye to release the film in the fall.
