A Good Day to Die Hard will see Bruce Willis revive the legendary John McClane character once more next month, coming in as the perfect action alternative opening over the Valentine’s weekend for those looking for something a little less romantic.

We saw a great new trailer for the fifth instalment in the franchise earlier in the month, and now Fox have released a new TV spot, confirming Collider’s report that the film will indeed be getting an R rating in the US – and most likely a 15 in the UK – unlike its PG-13 predecessor.

“Bruce Willis is back as iconoclastic, take-no-prisoners cop John McClane, who for the first time finds himself on foreign soil after traveling to Moscow to help his wayward son Jack (Jai Courtney) — unaware that Jack is really a highly-trained CIA operative out to stop a nuclear weapons heist. With the Russian underworld in pursuit, and battling a countdown to war, the two McClanes discover their opposing methods make them unstoppable heroes.”

Willis is joined by on-screen son Jai Courtney, with support from Cole Hauser, Sebastian Koch, and Yuliya Snigir, and the brilliant Mary Elizabeth Winstead reprising her role as Willis’ daughter, Lucy McClane.

John Moore (Max Payne) is behind the camera, directing from a script by Skip Woods (Hitman).

A Good Day to Die Hard will be hitting the UK and US on 14th February, with Fox no doubt eyeing to give an explosive alternative to those seeking something different over the Valentine’s weekend. For now, here’s the latest TV spot to whet your appetites.
