Robert Zemeckis’ Flight is set to close the NYFF this weekend, marking the director’s anticipated return to live-action for the first time since 2000’s Oscar-nominated Cast Away.

Denzel Washington takes the lead of what could be an interesting awards contender, and after catching the US poster and the first TV spots for the film earlier in the month, Yahoo Movies have now released an extended 90-second TV spot.

“In this action-packed mystery thriller, Academy Award winner Denzel Washington stars as Whip Whitaker, a seasoned airline pilot who miraculously crash-lands his plane after a mid-air catastrophe, saving nearly every soul on board. After the crash, Whip is hailed as a hero, but as more is learned, more questions than answers arise as to who or what was really at fault, and what really happened on that plane?”

John Gatins (Coach Carter, Real Steel) has penned the script, with John Goodman, Kelly Reilly, and Melissa Leo completing the cast.

Flight will be released in just a few weeks on 2nd November in the US, which puts it up against Wreck-It Ralph, The Man with the Iron Fists, and the limited released of A Late Quartet and Jack & Diane. Here in the UK, it will be touching down on 1st February in the New Year, and judging by what we’ve seen so far, it should be worth the wait. For now, here’s the new extended TV spot. Enjoy.
