Safe-Haven-PosterSafe Haven is the latest adaptation of Nicholas Sparks’ best-selling novels.

Sparks has made an impressive career in writing romantic dramas, and they have subsequently found great successes on the big screen. And with Josh Duhamel (Transformers) and Julianne Hough (Rock of Ages) in the leads, there’s every reason to expect Safe Haven to continue the track record.

Set for a Valentine’s release in the US, a new sixty-second TV spot has debuted online, with that same brilliant song – Lissie’s cover of Fleetwood Mac’s Go Your Own Way – playing over the top.

“SAFE HAVEN is an affirming and suspenseful story about a young woman’s struggle to love again, Safe Haven is based on the novel from Nicholas Sparks, the best-selling author behind the hit films The Notebook and Dear John. When a mysterious young woman arrives in a small North Carolina town, her reluctance to join the tight knit community raises questions about her past. Slowly, she begins putting down roots, and gains the courage to start a relationship with Alex, a widowed store owner with two young children. But dark secrets intrude on her new life with such terror that she is forced to rediscover the meaning of sacrifice and rely on the power of love in this deeply moving romantic thriller.”

Cobie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother, The Avengers) and David Lyons (Grey’s Anatomy) complete the cast nicely, alongside child actors Noah Lomax (Playing for Keeps) and newcomer Mimi Kirkland.

Three-time Oscar nominee, Lasse Hallström (Chocolat, What’s Eating Gilbert Grape) is behind the camera, directing from a script by Leslie Bohem (TV’s Taken) and Dana Stevens (City of Angels).

Safe Haven will be released in the US on 14th February, 2013, just in time for those heading into theatres on Valentine’s Day, with its UK release set slightly later on 1st March. For now, here’s the new TV spot to let you dip a toe in the water. Enjoy.
