5. Olivia Wilde

After an accident gave her super strength, limited invulnerability, and flight, Jessica Jones became a rookie superhero known as Jewel. However, when the villainous Purple Man placed her under his mental control, it left the young hero damaged almost beyond repair. This resulted in Jones becoming a Private Eye, leading her to eventually meet and fall in love with Luke Cage. That’s a very brief bio of one of Marvel’s most interesting – and low key – characters, and who better to portray her than an actress as talented as Olivia Wilde? Having appeared in over 80 episodes of House, Wilde is no stranger to the small screen, while roles in the likes of Tron: legacy and Rush have since made her a much bigger name in Hollywood. It’s easy then to imagine her being tempted away from movies for what would be a very high profile project and a character that has an awful lot more to her than 99% of female superheroes!
