Alex Cross posterRob Cohen’s Alex Cross arrives in US theatres this weekend, promising a solid crime/thriller that returns us to the world of Alex Cross and James Patterson’s detective novels.

This time around, Tyler Perry takes the lead as the eponymous detective, with Matthew Fox starring as the utterly hench antagonist, and with its release just around the corner, Yahoo Movies have debuted a new clip in which they go head to head.

“After Washington DC detective Alex Cross is told that a family member has been murdered, he vows to track down the killer. He soon discovers that she was not his first victim and that things are not what they seem.”

Cohen (The Fast and the Furious) is behind the camera, directing from a script co-written by Marc Moss (Along Came a Spider) and Kerry Williamson, adapting James Patterson’s 2006 novel, Cross.

Previously titled I, Alex Cross, Perry and Fox star alongside the great Edward Burns (Saving Private Ryan), Rachel Nichols (Alias), Jean Reno (Leon), Giancarlo Esposito (The Usual Suspects), and John C. McGinley (Wall Street, Scrubs).

Alex Cross will be released in the US this Friday, 19th October, before coming to the UK next month for a 30th November release. For now, here’s the new clip to give you a taste of what’s coming. Enjoy.
